Based at The Heat Depot showroom in Manchester, our experienced team helps customers across the UK choose the right fires, fireplaces and stoves for their homes. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for below, please contact our team for further advice.
What type of fire can I have if I do not have a chimney?
There are several excellent options available if your property does not have a traditional chimney. Balanced flue gas fires can be installed on an external wall and vent horizontally outside. Flueless gas fires are another option, subject to room size and ventilation requirements. Electric fires are also extremely popular as they require no chimney or flue at all and can often be installed quickly and easily.
Do your fires, fireplaces and stoves include a manufacturer's warranty?
Yes. HotPrice.co.uk is an authorised retailer for the brands we supply, meaning all products are supplied with the full manufacturer's warranty. Warranty length varies depending on the manufacturer and product type.
Can I install a wood burning stove in a smokeless area?
Yes. Many modern wood burning stoves are DEFRA approved which means they can legally burn wood in UK smokeless areas when used correctly. See our range of DEFRA Approved Stoves.
Will my chimney need lining for a gas fire or stove?
This depends on the condition of your chimney and the appliance being installed. In many cases, a gas fire may not require a chimney liner if the existing flue is sound. Wood burning and multi-fuel stoves will often require a suitable flue liner. A qualified installer or survey can advise on the correct setup for your property.
How much does a gas fire or electric fire cost to run?
Running costs depend on the appliance heat output, usage time and current energy prices. Modern electric fires are generally inexpensive to operate on flame-effect only mode, whilst gas fire running costs vary depending on the heat setting used and your gas tariff.
Do you offer fireplace and stove installation services in Manchester?
Yes. We can offer professional installation services across many Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North West areas. This includes gas fires, electric fires, fireplaces, wood burning stoves and flue systems, subject to location and installation type.
How quickly will my order be delivered?
Delivery times vary depending on the product and stock availability. Many popular products are dispatched within approximately 5 working days, whilst special order items can take longer. Estimated delivery information is usually shown on individual product pages.
Do you deliver fires and fireplaces throughout the UK?
Yes. HotPrice.co.uk supplies fires, fireplaces and stoves throughout Mainland UK. Delivery terms may vary depending on product size and destination.
Can I visit your fireplace showroom in Manchester?
Absolutely. Our showroom, The Heat Depot in Middleton, Manchester, displays a wide range of gas fires, electric fires, wood burning stoves, fireplaces and media wall fires. If you are travelling specifically to see a certain model, we recommend contacting us beforehand to confirm display availability.
Are electric fires realistic now?
Yes. Modern electric fires have advanced significantly in recent years and many now feature highly realistic flame visuals, glowing fuel effects, mood lighting and even crackling sound effects. Premium electric fires are especially popular for media wall installations and contemporary homes.
What is the difference between a balanced flue and conventional flue gas fire?
A conventional flue gas fire uses an existing chimney or flue system to remove combustion gases vertically. A balanced flue gas fire is sealed from the room and vents directly through an external wall using a twin-wall flue system. Balanced flue fires are ideal for homes without chimneys.
Can I have a media wall fire installed in an existing chimney breast?
In many cases, yes. Media wall electric fires are extremely versatile and can often be incorporated into existing chimney breasts or newly constructed false walls depending on available dimensions and installation requirements.
Is it safe to buy a fireplace or stove online?
Yes. HotPrice.co.uk uses secure payment processing systems and encrypted checkout technology to help protect customer information. We have many years of experience supplying fires, fireplaces and stoves throughout the UK.
Can you help if I cannot find the fire or stove I want?
Yes. If you have seen a fire, fireplace or stove elsewhere but cannot find it listed on our website, contact our team and we will do our best to help source it or suggest suitable alternatives.
Do you offer advice on choosing the right heat output?
Yes. Our team can advise on suitable heat outputs depending on room size, insulation levels and the type of appliance you are considering. This can be especially important when choosing gas fires and wood burning stoves.
