As a multi-fuel stove, you have the benefit of burning either logs or approved solid fuels. Burning wood generates lovely, dancing flames inside the stove whilst burning solid fuels gives off a more intense 'glow' and will last longer between more fuel is needed.
An optional cassette conversion kit for the Luxima 5kW Multifuel is offered to change the appliance to a dedicated Wood burning stove. Whilst in standard form, the stove is fine to burn wood or solid fuels, using the optional Wood Cassette when burning wood will burn wood more efficiently. Alternatively, there is a dedicated wood burning stove offered on this model (listed as a separate product).
The slim depth of the Luxima allows it to be fitted into more installations plus it means the stove has a wider visual look normally only found in much higher output models. The 5kW direct heat output rating of the Luxima is perfect for small to medium sized rooms and in most instances, additional ventilation in the room is not needed although the stove is compatible with direct air into the appliance with an outside kit being offered as an extra if needed.
As you would expect from a renown stove manufacturer such as Portway, the Luxima has passed the 2022 EU Clean Stove Standard for highly efficient, clean burning and ultra low emission stoves. It is also suitable to burn wood (or smokeless fuels) in smokeless areas of the UK.
Ultra slim, wide capacity
The Portway Luxima multi-fuel stove has been specifically designed to be ultra-slim in depth allowing it to be easily installed into existing fireplaces without the need for a protruding hearth. A large width allows for logs of 400mm (16").
Top quality finish
The steel stove body is made from 5mm thick steel and are one of the toughest, most robust on the market. Cast iron components are made from the finest quality cast iron. All stoves are finished with black metalized siloxane paint. Portway are so confident in the quality of all their stove bodies that they guarantee them for 10 years.
Quaternary and Tertiary Air System
Portway's tertiary and quaternary air supply uses the pressure difference generated inside the stove to draw in air at very high velocity through precision laser-machined spiracles. Fuel smoke particles are reignited in mid-flight causing additional flame combustion generating more heat and emitting fewer harmful chemicals into the atmosphere.
Stove lining
A high density vermiculite lining for perfect combustion acting as insulation to limit the loss of heat through the back and sides of the stove and directs it through the front and towards the centre of the room.
Airwash system
A pre-heated Airwash system keeps the glass window clean and clear by passing a stream of intensely hot air down the inside of the glass preventing flames and combustion particles from having contact with the window.
