Founded in 1890, when a Birmingham-based manufacturer began selling oil storage containers, attention soon turned to heating, with the production of oil heaters marking the birth of the first Valor heaters.
Outstanding technological developments and continual investment in product design over the years have more than met customer’s rising needs and expectations, keeping Valor at the forefront of the heating industry.
1966 marked the production and sale of the first Valor radiant gas fire, followed just ten years later by the first ‘living’ flame gas fire complete with imitation fuel bed. A hugely significant turn in product design, the innovative ‘living’ flame fire once again proved Valor’s position as a ground-breaking market leader.
The turn of the millennium hailed another new era for Valor, with the merger of Newmond plc and Baxi Group; bringing together three of the world’s leading fire brands, Baxi, Valor and Wonderfire, under one umbrella: Baxi Fires Division.
Now working from one purpose built factory, Baxi Fires Division looks forward to heating UK homes for decades to come.

Unlike most other manufacturers, every single fire manufactured at their purpose built factory in Erdington is gas and leak tested for your peace of mind. Valor products are manufactured in accordance with the internationally recognised Quality Management System Standard ISO 9000:2001.
Assured safety
All Valor fires are fitted with a flame safety device which cuts off the gas in the unlikely event that the pilot flame is blown out, plus Valor's Oxysafe system which monitors the level of oxygen in the room and cuts off the fire if there is insufficient oxygen in the room. All of Valor's electric fires are also fitted with an electrical cut out safety device
